Moreton transport mode share targets

Moreton Bay targets

Connecting SEQ 2031 has established targets for Moreton Bay Regional Council local government area that aim to:

  • increase pubic transport share from 6.2% to 11%, taking daily trips from 72 000 in 2006 to 190 000 in 2031
  • increase the share of walking trips from 8.9% in 2006 to 11% in 2031
  • increase the share of cycling trips from 1.7% in 2006 to 8% in 2031
  • decrease the share of trips by private vehicles from 83.2% to 70%

This may sound like a big change, but it can be achieved if each Moreton resident changes just two of their 17 weekday trips to public transport, cycling or walking.
